Our Story
In 2013, Tamara Hernandez, a mother of two, had the idea to create a trilingual project-based elementary school because she wanted her children to learn Mandarin and Spanish while getting an excellent, well-rounded education. With the help of six other passionate mothers and her business partner, Harry Ralston, volunteering as CFO, the visionary group of parents embarked on a mission to establish a school for their children.
Just eleven months later, Oasis Trilingual Community School proudly opened its doors to its first cohort of nine students, introducing a new learning methodology by offering immersive Mandarin, Spanish, and English instruction for native and novice speakers.
In 2019, Oasis received its WASC accreditation due to the tireless effort of our Program Director, Ms. Clarke Sumner. She helmed our move from Temple City to Monrovia in 2021. She is now joined by Ms. Joyce Hsiao our Head of School and Ms. Karen Ogbugbulu as Assistant Head of School.
In 2022, our school moved to a beautiful new campus in Monrovia, nestled beneath the stunning San Gabriel Mountains. Oasis now serves as a beacon of educational innovation in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles. Families from all corners of Los Angeles County have joined our vibrant community, seeking a cutting-edge, whole-child schooling experience for their children.
Since our establishment in 2014, our vision has been to create a nurturing and emotionally safe environment where children can thrive creatively. Our approach goes beyond language acquisition; it embraces the holistic development of each child.
